GETTING THERE

Until recently, the location of Fundo Los Leones, in the Aysen area of the 11th Region of Chile has been very remote. This has kept the area pristene and frozen in the past which is part of its massive appeal now.

Recently the government has been working very hard on the Austral Highway #7 which has opened up the area to beautiful and easy transit between the Chaiten area all the way down to Balmaceda. This area includes the wonderful area of Green Lake (Lago Verde) and La Junta.

Additionally, the government has completed another new road that goes due west from La Junta and takes you to Raul Marin Balmaceda, the only real access to the Gulf of Corcovado or Pacific Ocean in this entire area. Now the road goes right to the Peninsula of Raul Marin Balmaceda and you take a nice ferry ride across the beautiful Palena River to Fundo Los Leones. You can literally drive right to the property now. It has created a situation where the 19th century now meets the 21st century!

Having access via land transport means that not only do you have wonderful recreational activities at Fundo Los Leones but just a few miles drive away now you can fish and explore many other lakes and rivers such as the Roselot, Palena and Lago Verde.

Flights:

Most people fly from/to Santiago, Chile to Puerto Montt and then schedule through us a private charter flight that lands right on a landing strip on Fundo Los Leones. Many planes of different sizes and types are available. If we know the number of passengers and what luggage you are bringing we can make the necessary arrangements.

You can also fly from/to Santiago Chile to Balmaceda and then take a wonderful drive up the Austral Highway to the property. This drive is about 6 hours through some of the most beautiful countryside, rivers, waterfalls that you will ever see in your lifetime. We suggest this option for people that want to experience the Austral Highway. So, your option is to either fly in or out of Balmaceda and we can arrange for a private charter to fly you to or from Fundo Los Leones to Puerto Montt.

you can fly to Buenos Aires to Esquel, Argentina and drive to Fundo Los Leones or visit the Estancia El Palenque and drive over the border to Fundo Los Leones. This gives you and opportunity to visit two countries and two very different cultures, food and geography on the same trip. Driving from Esquel or the Estancia El Palenque is about a five hour trip.
